This is Sapphire's elemental wing reference. Her wings are of sapphires, and can not change into the color of red, for they would be of rubies. They can be pink, but Sapphire chooses not to, for she dislikes the color pink (sapphires can range from a large variety of colors). Solid rock reinforces the wings, connecting to Sapphire's back near the shoulder blades. Little "roots" or "connectors" will emerge from the solid rock and ensure connection of the wings to Sapphire's body.
It's extremely difficult to rip these wings from her body, for the grip is so powerful. Only Sapphire can allow these wings to come off by disabling the connectors. If she chooses, the can allow the wings to form into any type of weapon she likes, making herself a highly dangerous opponent. 
Lightning usually surrounds the wings, circulating fast and flashing, striking opponents down in the blink of an eye. At times, she may use poisons or toxins on her wings. With certain moves, she may spin violently and allow some of the "feathers" to fly off and strike an opponent, poisoning them instantly. Earth and certain types of wood may form around the wings, solidifying them and making them tougher to deal with. She will use any of her elements to surround the wings, even if it's sound that pulses with every flap of the wings, or raising them up and forcing a soundwave towards an opponent.
